Pugh was elected to office on November 3, 2020. Prior to serving in this role, he demonstrated his commitment to public service by serving as the vice chairman for the Board of Zoning and Appeals and as a planning commissioner for the Town of Blythewood. Additionally, Pugh has served as a board member for the Blythewood Chamber of Commerce.
